वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores the ethical weight of suffering: even in a royal household, grief can become overwhelming and publicly visible, reminding rulers and listeners that dharma must account for the human cost of events and decisions.
The narrator describes a brief period when the Pāṇḍavas’ residence is filled with anguished cries, creating a scene so sorrowful that it is difficult to look at—signaling intense mourning or distress within the household.
