This verse is a colophon rather than a doctrinal statement: it highlights the ethical importance of knowledge being transmitted through the guru–disciple relationship, where dharma is preserved by orderly teaching, attentive learning, and the completion of instruction in a disciplined textual form.
The text is marking the end of Chapter 48 within the Anugītā portion of the Aśvamedhika Parva, specifically within a guru–disciple dialogue attributed here to Vāyudeva as speaker; it functions as a formal closure and organizational marker in the Gita Press edition.
