True wisdom may remain outwardly inconspicuous: one may adopt a humble or even ‘foolish’ appearance for safety, strategy, or modesty, but one must ensure that such behavior never violates or discredits dharma.
Vāyudeva is instructing about proper conduct: he advises that a discerning person should live by subtle dharma and act according to knowledge, sometimes concealing one’s wisdom under a simple exterior while keeping one’s actions ethically pure.
