Adhyāya 42 — Mahābhūta–Indriya–Adhyātma-Vyavasthā
Brahmā’s Instruction on Elements and Faculties
त्वग्घ्राणश्रोत्रचक्षूंषि रसना वाक् च संयता: । विशुद्धं च मनो यस्य बुद्धिश्चाव्यभिचारिणी
tvag-ghrāṇa-śrotra-cakṣūṃṣi rasanā vāk ca saṃyatāḥ | viśuddhaṃ ca mano yasya buddhis cāvyabhicāriṇī ||
ବାୟୁ କହିଲେ—ଯାହାର ସ୍ପର୍ଶ (ତ୍ୱକ୍), ଘ୍ରାଣ (ନାସିକା), ଶ୍ରବଣ (ଶ୍ରୋତ୍ର), ଦୃଷ୍ଟି (ଚକ୍ଷୁ), ରସନା ଓ ବାକ୍—ଏହି ଇନ୍ଦ୍ରିୟଗୁଡ଼ିକ ସଂଯତ; ମନ ଶୁଦ୍ଧ; ଏବଂ ବୁଦ୍ଧି ନିଜ ନିଶ୍ଚୟରୁ ଅବିଚଳ—ସେ ମଙ୍ଗଳମୟ ବ୍ରହ୍ମକୁ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ କରେ; ତାହାଠାରୁ ଉଚ୍ଚ କିଛି ନାହିଁ।
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse teaches that liberation-oriented realization depends on disciplined restraint of the senses and speech, purification of the mind, and an unwavering intellect; such inner steadiness leads to attainment of the highest Brahman.
Vāyudeva is instructing the listener on the marks of a spiritually accomplished person, describing the inner disciplines—sense-restraint, mental purity, and steady discernment—that culminate in reaching the supreme Brahman.
