Abhaya-Itihāsa: Karma, Indriyas, and the Non-sensory Brahman
Brāhmaṇī–Brāhmaṇa Saṃvāda
evam uktaḥ sa śāntātmā tām uvāca hasann iva | subhage nābhyasūyāmi vākyasyāsya tavānaghe ||
The verse highlights kṣamā (forbearance) and śānti (inner calm): a virtuous person, recognizing another’s blameless intent, does not react with resentment but responds gently.
After being spoken to by his wife, the tranquil-minded figure replies with a mild smile, reassuring her that he does not take her words amiss because she is sinless and well-intentioned.
