The verse frames a dharmic narrative device: divine seers appear at pivotal moments to disclose truth and guide rulers. It underscores that governance and ethical clarity often require listening to higher counsel, especially in the post-war, post-renunciation aftermath.
Two years after the Pāṇḍavas have returned from their forest-āśrama period, the celestial sage Nārada arrives to meet King Yudhiṣṭhira—setting up the forthcoming disclosure that will intensify the brothers’ grief and moral reflection.
