As a colophon, the verse itself teaches through structure: it marks the completion of the Yayāti episode, reminding readers that narratives in the Mahābhārata are moral case-studies—desire and choice have consequences that extend through lineage, and closure invites reflection on dharma and restraint.
This is an editorial closing line indicating that the chapter focused on the Yayāti episode has ended within the Sambhava Parva of the Ādi Parva. It does not advance dialogue but signals the end of that narrative unit.
