Āstīka-stuti at Janamejaya’s Sacrifice (आस्तीकस्तुतिः / यज्ञप्रशंसा)
यत्तो5भवत् परित्रस्तस्तक्षकात् पन्नगोत्तमात् | ततस्तस्मिंस्तु दिवसे सप्तमे समुपस्थिते
janamejaya uvāca |
yatto 'bhavat paritrastas takṣakāt pannagottamāt |
tatas tasmiṁs tu divase saptame samupasthite |
ଜନମେଜୟ କହିଲେ—ନାଗଶ୍ରେଷ୍ଠ ତକ୍ଷକଙ୍କୁ ନେଇ ସେ ଯେତେବେଳେ ଭୟଭୀତ ହେଲେ, ସେହି ମୁହୂର୍ତ୍ତରୁ ନିରନ୍ତର ସତର୍କ ରହିଲେ। ପରେ ସପ୍ତମ ଦିନ ଆସିଲା—ଯେ ଦିନ ତକ୍ଷକଙ୍କ ତେଜରେ ଦହି ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ହେବ ବୋଲି ପୂର୍ବରୁ କୁହାଯାଇଥିଲା—ସେତେବେଳେ ଘଟଣାମାନେ ନିୟତିର ପରିଣତି ଦିଗକୁ ଗତି କଲା।
