Cause of Kalmāṣapāda’s Niyoga under a Curse
बभूव सो<स्य सचिव: सम्प्रदीप्त इवाग्निना । त्वरया चोपसंगम्य स्नेहादागतसम्भ्रम:
babhūva so ’sya sacivaḥ sampradīpta ivāgninā | tvarayā copasaṅgamya snehād āgata-sambhramaḥ ||
ତାଙ୍କର ଅମାତ୍ୟ ଅଗ୍ନିରେ ଜ୍ୱଳିଉଠିଥିବା ପରି ହେଲେ। ସେ ତୁରନ୍ତ ତ୍ୱରାରେ ତାଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଗଲେ; ସ୍ନେହରୁ ତାଙ୍କ ହୃଦୟ ଉଦ୍ବେଗରେ ଆକୁଳ ହେଲା, କାରଣ ସେ ମହାଧନୁର୍ଧର ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଭୂମିରେ ପତିତ ଦେଖିଲେ—ଯେନେ କାଳେ ପତିତ ଉଚ୍ଚ ଇନ୍ଦ୍ରଧ୍ୱଜ।
गन्धर्व उवाच
The verse highlights the dharmic ideal of loyal service: a minister’s duty is not merely administrative but deeply protective and compassionate, responding swiftly and selflessly when the king is in distress.
A great king has fallen to the ground; seeing this, his minister is overwhelmed with alarm—likened to being on fire—and immediately rushes to him, his agitation arising from affection.
