“Brahma-vit” refers to one who knows Brahman—spiritual truth beyond the body and mind—showing that genuine realization can arise within a family line, not merely political power.
Śukadeva is narrating sacred dynastic history to Mahārāja Parīkṣit, preserving the Bhagavatam’s lineage map and highlighting how dharma and spiritual knowledge appear through generations.
It reminds us that family background is meaningful when it supports values—purity (śuci), integrity (śuddha), and guidance by dharma—so one should cultivate spiritual knowledge and ethical living in one’s own “lineage” through habits and character.
