Sudāmā Brāhmaṇa: Divine Friendship, Guru-bhakti, and the Lord’s Grace
yācitvā caturo muṣṭīn viprān pṛthuka-taṇḍulān caila-khaṇḍena tān baddhvā bhartre prādād upāyanam
This verse shows that even a poor devotee’s offering—four handfuls of flattened rice—becomes a worthy gift when presented with sincerity and devotion.
Though impoverished, she gathered what little was possible and sent it as an upāyana (offering) so Sudāmā could approach Kṛṣṇa with a token of love and respect.
Offer whatever you have—time, service, or simple food—with genuine devotion; spiritual value depends on sincerity, not extravagance.
