What abodes of thine they worship with oblation—may all those encompass the sacrifice for thee. O Soma, swelling with life, the furtherer, rich in heroes, slaying no hero—go forth and range through the dwellings.

Frequently Asked Questions

It chiefly treats the Soma-purchase sequence and the Atithya (guest-reception) rites, in which Soma is ritually obtained, welcomed, seated, and established to pervade and protect the yajña.

Because the rite is framed as a conscious act: the sacrificer’s faculties must be gathered back into wholeness so recitation, perception, and intention do not lapse, preserving efficacy and correctness.

It explicitly places the action on Varuṇa’s seat of ṛta and aligns timing and right-seeing through Sūrya as the eye of Mitra–Varuṇa, making the ritual conform to cosmic law rather than mere procedure.
