Svāhā unto the breaths, unto their presiding lords. Unto Earth svāhā; unto Agni svāhā; unto the Mid-air svāhā; unto Vāyu svāhā. Unto Heaven svāhā; unto Sūrya svāhā.

Unto the quarters svāhā; unto the Moon svāhā; unto the stars svāhā; unto the waters svāhā; unto Varuṇa svāhā. Unto the navel svāhā; unto the purified (power/essence) svāhā.

Unto Speech svāhā; unto Breath svāhā, unto Breath svāhā. Unto the Eye svāhā, unto the Eye svāhā; unto the Ear svāhā, unto the Ear svāhā.
Mantra 4
मन॑स॒: काम॒माकू॑तिं वा॒चः स॒त्यम॑शीय । प॒शू॒नाᳪ रू॒पमन्न॑स्य॒ रसो॒ यश॒: श्रीः श्र॑यतां॒ मयि॒ स्वाहा॑
May I attain the mind’s desire and purpose, and the truth of speech. May the form of cattle, the sap of food, glory and prosperity cleave unto me—svāhā.
Mantra 5
प्र॒जाप॑तिः सम्भ्रि॒यमा॑णः स॒म्राट् सम्भृ॑तो वैश्वदे॒वः स॑ᳪस॒न्नो घ॒र्मः प्रवृ॑क्त॒स्तेज॒ उद्य॑त आश्वि॒नः पय॑स्यानी॒यमा॑ने पौ॒ष्णो वि॑ष्य॒न्दमा॑ने मारु॒तः क्लथ॑न् । मै॒त्रः शर॑सि सन्ता॒य्यमा॑ने वाय॒व्यो॒ ह्रि॒यमा॑ण आग्ने॒यो हू॒यमा॑नो॒ वाग्घु॒तः
Prajāpati, as he is being gathered, is the Sovereign; when gathered he is of the All-gods; when compacted he is the Gharma; when sent forth he is splendour uplifted. In the milky (stream) as it is being led on he is Aśvin; in the flowing forth he is Pūṣan; in the churning he is Marut. In the lake, as it is being thickened, he is Mitra; as it is being borne along he is Vāyu; as it is being offered he is Agni; and Speech itself is the oblation.

स॒वि॒ता प्र॑थ॒मेऽह॑न्न॒ग्निर्द्वि॒तीये॑ वा॒युस्तृ॒तीय॑ आदि॒त्यश्च॑तु॒र्थे च॒न्द्रमा॑: पञ्च॒म ऋ॒तुः ष॒ष्ठे म॒रुत॑: सप्त॒मे बृह॒स्पति॑रष्ट॒मे । मि॒त्रो न॑व॒मे वरु॑णो दश॒म इन्द्र॑ एकाद॒शे विश्वे॑ दे॒वा द्वा॑द॒शे
Savitar on the first day; Agni on the second; Vāyu on the third; Āditya on the fourth; the Moon on the fifth; the Season on the sixth; the Maruts on the seventh; Bṛhaspati on the eighth; Mitra on the ninth; Varuṇa on the tenth; Indra on the eleventh; the All-gods on the twelfth.

उ॒ग्रश्च॑ भी॒मश्च॒ ध्वा॒न्तश्च॒ धुनि॑श्च । सा॒स॒ह्वाँश्चा॑भियु॒ग्वा च॑ वि॒क्षिप॒: स्वाहा॑
The Fierce and the Terrible, the Darkness and the Shaker; the Overpowering and the Assailer, the Scatterer—to him be Svāhā!
Mantra 8
अ॒ग्निᳪ हृद॑येना॒शनि॑ᳪ हृदया॒ग्रेण॑ पशु॒पतिं॑ कृत्स्न॒हृद॑येन भ॒वं य॒क्ना । श॒र्वं मत॑स्नाभ्या॒मीशा॑नं म॒न्युना॑ महादे॒वम॑न्तःपर्श॒व्येनो॒ग्रं दे॒वं व॑नि॒ष्ठुना॑ वसिष्ठ॒हनुः॒ शिङ्गी॑नि को॒श्याभ्या॑म्
Agni with the heart; the Thunderbolt with the forepart of the heart; Paśupati with the whole heart; Bhava with the liver. Śarva with the kidneys; Īśāna with wrath; Mahādeva with the inner ribs; the fierce god with the rump; (he who is) strong-jawed—with the horns; with the testicles (he is established).

उ॒ग्रँल्लोहि॑तेन मि॒त्रᳪ सौ॑व्रत्येन रु॒द्रं दौर्व्र॑त्ये॒नेन्द्रं॑ प्रक्री॒डेन॑ म॒रुतो॒ बले॑न सा॒ध्यान् प्र॒मुदा॑ । भ॒वस्य॒ कण्ठ्य॑ᳪ रु॒द्रस्या॑न्तः पा॒र्श्व्यं म॑हादे॒वस्य॒ यकृ॑च्छ॒र्वस्य॑ वनि॒ष्ठुः प॑शु॒पते॑: पुरी॒तत्
The Fierce with redness; Mitra with good fellowship; Rudra with ill-vow; Indra with sportive might; the Maruts with strength; the Sādhyas with gladness. Bhava’s is the throat; Rudra’s the inner flank; Mahādeva’s the liver; Śarva’s the rump; Paśupati’s the caul.

Obeisance by oblation unto weariness; unto over-weariness, obeisance by oblation; unto constraint-weariness, obeisance by oblation; unto dispersing weariness, obeisance by oblation; unto uprising weariness, obeisance by oblation. तप॑से॒ स्वाहा॒ तप्य॑ते॒ स्वाहा॒ तप्य॑मानाय॒ स्वाहा॑ त॒प्ताय॒ स्वाहा॑ घ॒र्माय॒ स्वाहा॑ । निष्कृ॑त्यै॒ स्वाहा॒ प्राय॑श्चित्त्यै॒ स्वाहा॑ भेष॒जाय॒ स्वाहा॑
Obeisance by oblation unto ardour; unto that which burneth, obeisance by oblation; unto him that is being heated, obeisance by oblation; unto the heated one, obeisance by oblation; unto the hot draught (the heat), obeisance by oblation. Unto expiation, obeisance by oblation; unto atonement, obeisance by oblation; unto medicine, obeisance by oblation.
Mantra 13
य॒माय॒ स्वाहा ऽन्त॑काय॒ स्वाहा॑ मृ॒त्यवे॒ स्वाहा॒ ब्रह्म॑णे॒ स्वाहा॑ ब्रह्मह॒त्यायै॒ स्वाहा॒ विश्वे॑भ्यो दे॒वेभ्य॒ः स्वाहा॒ द्यावा॑पृथि॒वीभ्या॒ᳪ स्वाहा॑
Obeisance by oblation unto Yama; unto Antaka, obeisance by oblation; unto Death, obeisance by oblation; unto Brahman, obeisance by oblation; unto Brahman-slaying, obeisance by oblation; unto all the Gods, obeisance by oblation; unto Heaven and Earth, obeisance by oblation.
Its mantras read like closing appendices that ‘seal’ ritual details—inner consecration, protection, expiation, and heat-purification—so the sacrificer is fully prepared for the concluding philosophical movement.
Tapas is invoked as purifying heat in graded stages, culminating in gharma (the ‘hot draught’/pravargya emblem), symbolizing the final refinement that burns away residue and makes the rite complete.
They treat the body and victim as a divine altar by assigning deities to parts and by offering to constituents and fatigue-states; this both protects integrity and serves as prāyaścitta, reintegrating what is depleted or tainted.
