Mantra 1

होता॑ यक्षत्स॒मिधेन्द्र॑मि॒डस्प॒दे नाभा॑ पृथि॒व्या अधि॑ । दि॒वो वर्ष्म॒न्त्समि॑ध्यत॒ ओजि॑ष्ठश्चर्षणी॒सहां॒ वेत्वाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ worship Indra with kindling, at Iḍā’s station, upon the navel of the earth; on the height of heaven let him be kindled. The most mighty, the helper of the peoples—let him come to the ghee-offering: O Hotṛ, sacrifice!

Mantra 2

होता॑ यक्ष॒त्तनू॒नपा॑तमू॒तिभि॒र्जेता॑र॒मप॑राजितम् । इन्द्रं॑ दे॒वᳪ स्व॒र्विदं॑ प॒थिभि॒र्मधु॑मत्तमै॒र्नरा॒शᳪसे॑न॒ तेज॑सा॒ वेत्वाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ worship Tanūnapāt with his succours—the Conqueror, the Unconquered—Indra the god, the finder of heaven, by paths most honeyed, with Narāśaṁsa, with splendour: let him come to the ghee-offering. O Hotṛ, sacrifice!

Mantra 3

होता॑ यक्ष॒दिडा॑भि॒रिन्द्र॑मीडि॒तमा॒जुह्वा॑न॒मम॑र्त्यम् । दे॒वो दे॒वै: सवी॑र्यो॒ वज्र॑हस्तः पुरन्द॒रो वेत्वाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ worship Indra with the Iḍās—Indra the praised, the summoned, the immortal; the god with the gods, truly heroic, thunderbolt-handed, fort-destroyer—let him come to the ghee-offering. O Hotṛ, sacrifice!

Mantra 4

होता॒ यक्षद्ब॒र्हिषीन्द्रं॑ निषद्व॒रं वृ॑ष॒भं नर्या॑पसम् । वसु॑भी रु॒द्रैरा॑दि॒त्यैः सु॒युग्भि॑र्ब॒र्हिरास॑द॒द्वेत्वाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ worship Indra with the barhis—Indra, the best to sit, the bull, whose work is for men. With the Vasus, the Rudras, the Ādityas, well-yoked, let him sit down upon the barhis; let him come to the ghee-offering. O Hotṛ, sacrifice!

Mantra 5

होता॑ यक्ष॒दोजो॒ न वी॒र्यᳪ सहो॒ द्वार॒ इन्द्र॑मवर्धयन् । सुप्रा॒य॒णा अ॒स्मिन्य॒ज्ञे वि श्र॑यन्तामृता॒वृधो॒ द्वार॒ इन्द्रा॑य मी॒ढुषे॒ व्यन्त्वाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ offer: the Doors, as it were, have increased Indra with vigour, with heroic power, with might. Let the fair-approaching Doors, thriving by ṛta, spread forth in this sacrifice; let them open wide for Indra the bounteous, for the ghee-oblation—O Hotṛ, sacrifice!

Mantra 6

होता॑ यक्षदु॒षे इन्द्र॑स्य धे॒नू सु॒दुघे॑ मा॒तरा॑ म॒ही । स॒वा॒तरौ॒ न तेज॑सा व॒त्समिन्द्र॑मवर्धतां वी॒तामाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ offer to Dawn: the two great Mothers, Indra’s well-milking cows. Like two impellers with their splendour, let them increase Indra as a calf; let them partake of the ghee—O Hotṛ, sacrifice!

Mantra 7

होता॑ यक्ष॒द्दैव्या॒ होता॑रा भि॒षजा॒ सखा॑या ह॒विषेन्द्रं॑ भिषज्यतः । क॒वी देवौ॒ प्रचे॑तसा॒विन्द्रा॑य धत्त इन्द्रि॒यं वी॒तामाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ offer: the two divine Hotṛs, comrades, physicians, with the oblation heal Indra. The two sages, the wise gods, bestow for Indra his sovereign power; let them partake of the ghee—O Hotṛ, sacrifice!

Mantra 8

होता॑ यक्षत्ति॒स्रो दे॒वीर्न भे॑ष॒जं त्रय॑स्त्रि॒धात॑वो॒ऽपस॒ इडा॒ सर॑स्वती॒ भार॑ती म॒हीः । इन्द्र॑पत्नीर्ह॒विष्म॑ती॒र्व्यन्त्वाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ offer to the three goddesses—like a remedy—three active powers, threefold-established: Idā, Sarasvatī, and great Bhāratī. Let the Indra-consorts, possessed of oblation, open wide for the ghee—O Hotṛ, sacrifice!

Mantra 9

होता॑ यक्ष॒त्त्वष्टा॑र॒मिन्द्रं॑ दे॒वं भि॒षज॑ᳪ सु॒यजं॑ घृत॒श्रिय॑म् । पु॒रु॒रूप॑ᳪ सु॒रेत॑सं म॒घोन॒मिन्द्रा॑य॒ त्वष्टा॒ दध॑दिन्द्रि॒याणि॒ वेत्वाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ offer to Tvaṣṭṛ—(even) Indra, the god, the physician, well to be worshipped, whose splendour is ghee; manifold in form, of good seed, bounteous. Let Tvaṣṭṛ, bestowing powers for Indra, accept the ghee—O Hotṛ, sacrifice!

Mantra 10

होता॑ यक्ष॒द्वन॒स्पति॑ᳪ शमि॒तार॑ᳪ श॒तक्र॑तुं धि॒यो जो॒ष्टार॑मिन्द्रि॒यम् । मध्वा॑ सम॒ञ्जन्प॒थिभि॑: सु॒गेभि॒: स्वदा॑ति य॒ज्ञं मधु॑ना घृ॒तेन॒ वेत्वाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ worship Vanaspati, the appeaser, the hundred-powered, the favourer of our holy thoughts, the Indra-like might. With sweetness, having duly anointed by paths of easy passage, he maketh the sacrifice savoury with honey and with ghee: may it win the Ājya; O Hotṛ, sacrifice!

होता॑ यक्ष॒दिन्द्र॒ᳪ स्वाहाऽऽज्य॑स्य॒ स्वाहा॒ मेद॑स॒: स्वाहा॑ स्तो॒काना॒ᳪ स्वाहा॒ स्वाहा॑कृतीना॒ᳪ स्वाहा॑ ह॒व्यसू॑क्तीनाम् । स्वाहा॑ दे॒वा आ॑ज्य॒पा जु॑षा॒णा इन्द्र॒ आज्य॑स्य॒ व्यन्तु॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ worship Indra. Svāhā for the ghee! Svāhā for the fat! Svāhā for the drops! Svāhā for the Svāhā-formulas! Svāhā for the offering-utterances! Svāhā! May the ghee-drinking gods, rejoicing, obtain the ghee; and may Indra obtain the ghee: O Hotṛ, sacrifice!

Mantra 12

दे॒वं ब॒र्हिरिन्द्र॑ᳪ सुदे॒वं दे॒वैर्वी॒रव॑त्स्ती॒र्णं वेद्या॑मवर्धयत् । वस्तो॑र्वृ॒तं प्राक्तोर्भृ॒तᳪ रा॒या ब॒र्हिष्म॒तोऽत्य॑गाद्वसु॒वने॑ वसु॒धेय॑स्य वेतु॒ यज॑

The divine Barhis, for Indra, the goodly god, strewn on the altar, with the gods, with heroes, hath increased. Enclosed is the dwelling, borne is the fore-part; with wealth the Barhis-possessor hath passed beyond: in the winning of goods, for the gaining of treasure—may it attain; sacrifice!

दे॒वीर्द्वार॒ इन्द्र॑ᳪ सङ्घा॒ते वी॒ड्वीर्याम॑न्नवर्धयन् । आ व॒त्सेन॒ तरु॑णेन कुमा॒रेण॑ च मीव॒तापार्वा॑णᳪ रे॒णुक॑काटं नुदन्तां वसु॒वने॑ वसु॒धेय॑स्य व्यन्तु॒ यज॑

May the divine Doors, at the place of joining, increase for Indra firm heroic might. With the young calf, with the youthful boy, with the lowing one, let them thrust away the knotty obstacle, the dusty stump: in the winning of goods, for the gaining of treasure, may they attain; sacrifice!

Mantra 14

दे॒वी उ॒षासा॒नक्तेन्द्रं॑ य॒ज्ञे प्र॑य॒त्य॒ह्वेताम् । दैवी॒र्विश॒: प्राया॑सिष्टा॒ᳪ सुप्री॑ते॒ सुधि॑ते वसु॒वने॑ वसु॒धेय॑स्य वीतां॒ यज॑

May the goddesses Dawn and Night, at the sacrifice’s onward course, invite Indra. May the divine peoples advance—well-pleased, well-disposed—in the winning of goods, for the gaining of treasure; may they enjoy (the offering): sacrifice!

Mantra 15

दे॒वी जोष्ट्री॒ वसु॑धिती दे॒वमिन्द्र॑मवर्धताम् । अया॑व्य॒न्याघा द्वेषा॒ᳪस्यान्या व॑क्ष॒द्वसु॒ वार्या॑णि॒ यज॑मानाय शिक्षि॒ते व॑सु॒वने॑ वसु॒धेय॑स्य वीतां॒ यज॑

May the two Goddesses—Jōṣṭrī and the Wealth-establishing pair—make the god Indra wax strong. Let one drive away evils, let the other bear hither hatreds; and let her convey choice riches unto the sacrificer, duly trained, in the winning of wealth: for the establishing of treasure may they come hither; worship thou!

Mantra 16

दे॒वी ऊ॒र्जाहु॑ती॒ दुघे॒ सु॒दुघे॒ पय॒सेन्द्र॑मवर्धताम् । इष॒मूर्ज॑म॒न्या व॑क्ष॒त्सग्धि॒ᳪ सपी॑तिम॒न्या नवे॑न॒ पूर्वं॒ दय॑माने पुरा॒णेन॒ नव॒मधा॑ता॒मूर्ज॑मू॒र्जाहु॑ती ऊ॒र्जय॑माने॒ वसु॒ वार्या॑णि॒ यज॑मानाय शिक्षि॒ते व॑सु॒वने॑ वसु॒धेय॑स्य वीतां॒ यज॑

May the Goddess, the Oblation of Strength, milking—well-milking—by her milk, make the god Indra wax strong. Let one bring refreshment and vigour; let the other bring eating and drinking. With the new, while cherishing the former; with the old, let them set the new in place: let them establish strength. O Oblation of Strength, while strength is being wrought, convey choice riches unto the sacrificer, duly trained, in the winning of wealth: for the establishing of treasure may they come hither; worship thou!

Mantra 17

दे॒वा दैव्या॒ होता॑रा दे॒वमिन्द्र॑मवर्धताम् । ह॒ताघ॑शᳪसा॒वाभा॑र्ष्टां॒ वसु॒ वार्या॑णि॒ यज॑मानाय शिक्षि॒तौ व॑सु॒वने॑ वसु॒धेय॑स्य वीतां॒ यज॑

May the Gods, the two divine Hotṛs, make the god Indra wax strong. Ye two that smite the evil-speaking, bring hither choice riches unto the sacrificer, duly trained, in the winning of wealth: for the establishing of treasure may ye come hither; worship thou!

Mantra 18

दे॒वीस्ति॒स्रस्ति॒स्रो दे॒वीः पति॒मिन्द्र॑मवर्धयन् । अस्पृ॑क्ष॒द्भार॑ती॒ दिव॑ᳪ रु॒द्रैर्य॒ज्ञᳪ सर॑स्व॒तीडा॑ वसु॑मती गृ॒हान् व॑सु॒वने॑ वसु॒धेय॑स्य व्यन्तु॒ यज॑

Three Goddesses, three indeed, made Indra, the Lord, to wax strong. Bhāratī touched the heaven; with the Rudras Sarasvatī touched the sacrifice; and Ilā, rich in wealth, the homes. In the winning of wealth, for the establishing of treasure, let them pervade (this rite); worship thou!

Mantra 19

दे॒व इन्द्रो॒ नरा॒शᳪस॑स्त्रिवरू॒थस्त्रि॑बन्धु॒रो दे॒वमिन्द्र॑मवर्धयत् । श॒तेन॑ शितिपृ॒ष्ठाना॒माहि॑तः स॒हस्रे॑ण॒ प्र व॑र्तते मि॒त्रावरु॒णेद॑स्य हो॒त्रमर्ह॑तो॒ बृह॒स्पति॑ स्तो॒त्रम॒श्विनाध्व॑र्यवं वसु॒वने॑ वसु॒धेय॑स्य वेत्तु॒ यज॑

The god Indra, as Narāśaṃsa, threefold-protected, threefold-linked, hath made the god Indra wax strong. Laid down with a hundred dapple-backed (steeds), with a thousand he goeth forth. Worthy is the Hotṛ-office of Mitra and Varuṇa; Bṛhaspati is the chant; the Aśvins are the Adhvaryu-function. In the winning of wealth, for the establishing of treasure, let him take knowledge (and accept); worship thou!

Mantra 20

दे॒वो दे॒वै॒र्वन॒स्पति॒र्हिर॑ण्यपर्णो॒ मधु॑शाखः सुपिप्प॒लो दे॒वमिन्द्र॑मवर्धयत् । दिव॒मग्रे॑णास्पृक्ष॒दान्तरि॑क्षं पृथि॒वीम॑दृᳪहीद्वसु॒वने॑ वसु॒धेय॑स्य वेतु॒ यज॑

The god, the divine Vanaspati, golden-leaved, honey-branched, rich in good fruit, hath strengthened the god Indra. With its top it touched the heaven; it pervaded the mid-air; it made firm the earth: in the winning of wealth, for the treasure laid up, may it bring (success): Sacrifice!

Mantra 21

दे॒वं ब॒र्हिर्वारि॑तीनां दे॒वमिन्द्र॑मवर्धयत् । स्वा॒स॒स्थमिन्द्रे॒णास॑न्नम॒न्या ब॒र्हीᳪष्य॒भ्य॒भूद्वसु॒वने॑ वसु॒धेय॑स्य वेतु॒ यज॑

The divine Barhis, of the warders (that keep off evil), hath strengthened the god Indra. Standing in its own place, set near unto Indra, the other barhis-grasses have encompassed it: in the winning of wealth, for the treasure laid up, may it bring (success): Sacrifice!

Mantra 22

दे॒वो अ॒ग्निः स्वि॑ष्ट॒कृद्दे॒वमिन्द्र॑मवर्धयत् । स्वि॑ष्टं कु॒र्वन्त्स्वि॑ष्ट॒कृत्स्वि॑ष्टम॒द्य क॑रोतु नो वसु॒वने॑ वसु॒धेय॑स्य वेतु॒ यज॑

The god Agni, the maker of well-offered (oblations), hath strengthened the god Indra. As he maketh the offering well, may the well-offering-maker make it well for us this day: in the winning of wealth, for the treasure laid up, may it bring (success): Sacrifice!

Mantra 23

अ॒ग्निम॒द्य होता॑रमवृणीता॒यं यज॑मान॒: पच॒न्पक्ती॒: पच॑न्पुरो॒डाशं॑ ब॒ध्नन्निन्द्रा॑य॒ छाग॑म् । सू॒प॒स्था अ॒द्य दे॒वो वन॒स्पति॑रभव॒दिन्द्रा॑य॒ छागे॑न । अघ॒त्तं मे॑द॒स्तः प्रति॑ पच॒ताग्र॑भी॒दवी॑वृधत्पुरो॒डाशे॑न । त्वाम॒द्य ऋ॑षे

Agni as Hotṛ hath this day been chosen; this sacrificer, cooking the cooked portions, cooking the cake, bindeth a he-goat for Indra. Firm-seated this day the god Vanaspati hath become, with the he-goat for Indra. They have eaten of the fat; cook ye in return: he took hold, he strengthened (Indra) with the cake. Thee to-day, O seer—

Mantra 24

होता॑ यक्षत्समिधा॒नं म॒हद्यश॒: सुस॑मिद्धं॒ वरे॑ण्यम॒ग्निमिन्द्रं॑ वयो॒धस॑म् । गा॒य॒त्रीं छन्द॑ इन्द्रि॒यं त्र्यविं॒ गां वयो॒ दध॒द्वेत्वाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ worship the kindled (fire), of great glory, well-kindled, choice-worthy—Agni, Indra, the bestower of vigour. The Gāyatrī metre, Indra’s might, threefold, bestowing vigour—may it bring (success): (with) ghee, O Hotṛ, sacrifice!

Mantra 25

होता॑ यक्ष॒त्तनू॒नपा॑तमु॒द्भिदं॒ यं गर्भ॒मदि॑तिर्द॒धे शुचि॒मिन्द्रं॑ वयो॒धस॑म् । उ॒ष्णिहं॒ छन्द॑ इन्द्रि॒यं दि॑त्य॒वाहं॒ गां वयो॒ दध॒द्वेत्वाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ worship Tanūnapāt, the Burster-forth, that embryo which Aditi hath set, the bright one—Indra, the giver of vital strength. Uṣṇih is the metre; here is Indra’s might: bestowing kine and vigour, let him come to the ghee; O Hotṛ, sacrifice!

Mantra 26

होता॑ यक्षदी॒डेन्य॑मीडि॒तं वृ॑त्र॒हन्त॑म॒मिडा॑भि॒रीड्यँ॒ सह॒: सोम॒मिन्द्रँ॑ वयो॒धस॑म् । अ॒नु॒ष्टुभं॒ छन्द॑ इन्द्रि॒यं पञ्चा॑विं॒ गां वयो॒ दध॒द्वेत्वाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ worship the adorable, the praised, the Vṛtra-slayer, to be lauded with faultless invocations—mighty Soma, Indra, the giver of vital strength. Anuṣṭubh is the metre; here is Indra’s might: bestowing the fivefold kine and vigour, let him come to the ghee; O Hotṛ, sacrifice!

Mantra 27

होता॑ यक्षत्सुब॒र्हिषं॑ पूष॒ण्वन्त॒मम॑र्त्य॒ᳪ सीद॑न्तं ब॒र्हिषि॑ प्रि॒येऽमृतेन्द्रं॑ वयो॒धस॑म् । बृ॒ह॒तीं छन्द॑ इन्द्रि॒यं त्रि॑व॒त्सं गां वयो॒ दध॒द्वेत्वाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ worship Indra, the giver of vital strength—well-barhised, attended by Pūṣan, immortal, sitting down upon the grass, dear in the deathless (seat). Bṛhatī is the metre; here is Indra’s might: bestowing the threefold-calving kine and vigour, let him come to the ghee; O Hotṛ, sacrifice!

Mantra 28

होता॑ यक्ष॒द्व्यच॑स्वतीः सुप्राय॒णा ऋ॑ता॒वृधो॒ द्वारो॑ दे॒वीर्हि॑र॒ण्ययी॑र्ब्र॒ह्माण॒मिन्द्रं॑ वयो॒धस॑म् । प॒ङ्क्तिं छन्द॑ इ॒हेन्द्रि॒यं तु॑र्य॒वाहं॒ गां वयो॒ दध॒द्व्यन्त्वाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ worship the wide-spreading, fair-pathed, ṛta-increasing Doors, the golden goddesses, (that they admit) Indra, the sacred power, the giver of vital strength. Paṅkti is the metre; here is Indra’s might: bestowing kine and vigour, let them open for the ghee; O Hotṛ, sacrifice!

Mantra 29

होता॑ यक्षत्सु॒पेश॑सा सुशि॒ल्पे बृ॑ह॒ती उ॒भे नक्तो॒षासा॒ न द॑र्श॒ते विश्व॒मिन्द्रं॑ वयो॒धस॑म् । त्रि॒ष्टुभं॒ छन्द॑ इ॒हेन्द्रि॒यं प॑ष्ठ॒वाहं॒ गां वयो॒ दध॑द्वी॒तामाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ worship the fair-adorned, well-fashioned, great pair—Night and Dawn—who appear to sight, (bringing) Indra, the giver of vital strength, the All. Triṣṭubh is the metre; here is Indra’s might: bestowing back-bearing kine and vigour, let the two come to the ghee; O Hotṛ, sacrifice!

Mantra 30

होता॑ यक्ष॒त्प्रचे॑तसा दे॒वाना॑मुत्त॒मं यशो॒ होता॑रा दैव्या क॒वी स॒युजेन्द्रं॑ वयो॒धस॑म् । जग॑तीं॒ छन्द॑ इन्द्रि॒यम॑न॒ड्वाहं॒ गां वयो॒ दध॑द्वी॒तामाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ, with provident mind, do worship—(securing) for the Gods their highest glory; (let) the two divine Hotṛs, the sages, yoked together, (worship) Indra, the sustainer of vital power. The Jagatī is the metre, the ox is the vigour: let them, bestowing vital strength, win the cow;—O Hotṛ, sacrifice with ghee!

Mantra 31

होता॑ यक्ष॒त्पेश॑स्वतीस्ति॒स्रो दे॒वीर्हि॑र॒ण्ययी॒र्भार॑तीर्बृह॒तीर्म॒हीः पति॒मिन्द्रं॑ वयो॒धस॑म् । वि॒राजं॒ छन्द॑ इ॒हेन्द्रि॒यं धे॒नुं गां न वयो॒ दध॒द्व्यन्त्वाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ worship the three splendid Goddesses, golden—Bhāratīs, great and mighty—(and) Indra their lord, the sustainer of vital power. Virāj is the metre, here is the vigour: like a milch-cow, bestowing vital strength, let them yield;—O Hotṛ, sacrifice with ghee!

होता॑ यक्षत्सु॒रेत॑सं॒ त्वष्टा॑रं पुष्टि॒वर्ध॑नᳪ रू॒पाणि॒ बिभ्र॑तं॒ पृथ॒क् पुष्टि॒मिन्द्रं॑ वयो॒धस॑म् । द्वि॒पदं॒ छन्द॑ इन्द्रि॒यमु॒क्षाणं॒ गां न वयो॒ दध॒द्वेत्वाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ worship Tvaṣṭṛ of good generative power, the increaser of nourishment, bearing forms severally; (and) Indra, the sustainer of vital power. Dvipad is the metre, the bull is the vigour: like a cow bestowing vital strength, let it come;—O Hotṛ, sacrifice with ghee!

Mantra 33

होता॑ यक्ष॒द्वन॒स्पति॑ᳪ शमि॒तार॑ᳪ श॒तक्र॑तु॒ᳪ हिर॑ण्यपर्णमु॒क्थिन॑ᳪ रश॒नां बिभ्र॑तं व॒शिं भग॒मिन्द्रं॑ वयो॒धस॑म् । क॒कुभं॒ छन्द॑ इ॒हेन्द्रि॒यं व॒शां वे॒हतं॒ गां वयो॒ दध॒द्वेत्वाज्य॑स्य॒ होत॒र्यज॑

Let the Hotṛ worship Vanaspati, the appeaser, the hundred-powered, golden-leaved, hymn-possessing, bearing the rein; (and) Indra, the sustainer of vital power. Kakubh is the metre, here is the vigour: (winning) the barren cow, the heifer, the cow—bestowing vital strength—let it come;—O Hotṛ, sacrifice with ghee!

Let the Hotṛ worship the Svāhā-formulas—Agni, the lord of the house; and separately Varuṇa, the remedy, the sage; (and) Indra, the sovereign power, the sustainer of vital strength. Atichandas is the metre, the great bull is the vigour: bestowing vital power, let them yield the cow;—O Hotṛ, sacrifice with ghee!

The three goddesses, the three divine powers, strengthened Indra their lord, the establisher of vigour. With the Jagatī metre (they strengthened) his Indra-might; placing in Indra vehement strength and vigour, for the winning of goods, for the establishing of wealth—let them bring it through: do thou sacrifice!
