Suta Goswami (narrating Śaiva ritual injunctions as taught in the Kailāsa-saṃhitā)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Shakti Form: Caṇḍikā
Role: nurturing
It teaches that Śiva-worship is both outer and inner: the ordered offering of water is matched by tūṣṇīm (silence), indicating inward recollection and single-pointed devotion—key to purification (śuddhi) and grace (anugraha) in a Śaiva Siddhānta sense.
The verse reflects abhiṣeka-oriented, saguna upāsanā: water is offered in prescribed places and sequence, emphasizing correct ritual nyāsa/placement and cleanliness, which supports reverent approach to the Liṅga as the accessible form through which the formless Lord bestows blessing.
Perform water-offering (udaka) in the stated three placements in order, maintaining silence; then cleanse/wipe the remaining designated spots—practically aligning with disciplined pūjā, purity of the altar, and meditative restraint (mauna) during worship.
