सोपान का ‘समापन-संस्कार’: लीला-परिणति के बाद समाज, मन और साधना का ‘स्थिर-धर्म’ में प्रतिष्ठापन। यहाँ रामराज्य बाह्य-राज्य नहीं, अंतःकरण का राज्य बनता है—गुणगान, सत्संग, संत-लक्षण, असंत-स्वभाव और ‘प्रताप-रवि’ (ज्ञान/कृपा) के उदय से अविद्या-निशा का क्षय। यह चरण साधक को कथा-रस से ‘नित्याचार’ (स्मरण, संग, विवेक) में उतारता है, जिससे मुक्ति का मार्ग लोक-जीवन के भीतर ही चलने लगता है।
यह खंड ‘समापन-संस्कार’ की तरह लीला-परिणति के बाद जीवन-धर्म की स्थापना करता है। रामराज्य को बाह्य शासन नहीं, ‘अंतःकरण का राज्य’ बताया गया है: (1) ‘प्रताप-रवि’—राम-कृपा/ज्ञान का सूर्य, जो ‘अविद्या-निशा’ को काटता है; (2) काम-क्रोधादि का ‘संकोच’—विकारों का घटाव, मन का अनुशासन; (3) ‘धर्म-तड़ाग’—धर्म को सरोवर मानकर उसमें ‘ज्ञान-पंकज’ का खिलना, अर्थात साधना का स्वाभाविक फल; (4) नगर-जन का गुणगान—लोक-जीवन में सत्संग का संस्थानीकरण; (5) सनकादि की स्तुति—निर्गुण ‘अनंत अनामय’ और सगुण ‘इंदिरारमन’ का एकत्व, जिससे भक्ति और ज्ञान का द्वैत मिटता है; (6) संत-असंत लक्षण—कथा को समाज-शिक्षा और साधक की आत्म-परीक्षा का उपकरण बनाना। कुल मिलाकर प्रतीक-योजना यह सिखाती है कि कथा-रस का अंतिम फल ‘नित्याचार’ और ‘स्थिर-धर्म’ है—मुक्ति का मार्ग लोक-जीवन के भीतर चलता है।

अवधपुरी बासिन्ह कर सुख संपदा समाज। सहस सेष नहिं कहि सकहिं जहँ नृप राम बिराज।।26।।
avadhapurī bāsinh kara sukha saṃpadā samāja | sahasa seṣa nahiṃ kahi sakahiṃ jahã nr̥pa rāma birāja ||26||
The citizens of Ayodhya enjoyed a complete abundance of joy and prosperity; where King Rama reigned, even Shesha with his thousand tongues could not fully describe it.
Verse 69 (चौपाई)
नारदादि सनकादि मुनीसा। दरसन लागि कोसलाधीसा।। दिन प्रति सकल अजोध्या आवहिं। देखि नगरु बिरागु बिसरावहिं।। जातरूप मनि रचित अटारीं। नाना रंग रुचिर गच ढारीं।। पुर चहुँ पास कोट अति सुंदर। रचे कँगूरा रंग रंग बर।। नव ग्रह निकर अनीक बनाई। जनु घेरी अमरावति आई।। महि बहु रंग रचित गच काँचा। जो बिलोकि मुनिबर मन नाचा।। धवल धाम ऊपर नभ चुंबत। कलस मनहुँ रबि ससि दुति निंदत।। बहु मनि रचित झरोखा भ्राजहिं। गृह गृह प्रति मनि दीप बिराजहिं।।

Narada and the Kumaras and the great sages came to seek the blessed sight of Rama, Lord of Kosala. Day by day they all arrived in Ayodhya; beholding the city, their dispassion was forgotten. Golden towers, inlaid with gems, were coated in charming plasters of many hues. On all four sides the city’s ramparts were exceedingly fair, with battlements fashioned in varied colors. The host of the nine planets seemed to have come and encircled it, as though Amaravati itself had arrived. The ground was finished in many-colored, glassy surfaces; seeing it, the sages’ hearts danced. White mansions kissed the sky; their finials seemed to outshine the splendor of sun and moon. Gem-built balconies gleamed, and in every house jewel-lamps shone.
Verse 70 (छंद)
मनि दीप राजहिं भवन भ्राजहिं देहरीं बिद्रुम रची। मनि खंभ भीति बिरंचि बिरची कनक मनि मरकत खची।। सुंदर मनोहर मंदिरायत अजिर रुचिर फटिक रचे। प्रति द्वार द्वार कपाट पुरट बनाइ बहु बज्रन्हि खचे।।

Gem-lamps shone; the mansions glittered, their thresholds fashioned of coral. Gem-pillars and walls—crafted as though by Brahma himself—were inlaid with gold, jewels, and emeralds. The beautiful, enchanting temple-like houses had charming courtyards made of crystal. At every doorway, golden doors were made and studded with many diamonds.
Verse 71 (दोहा/सोरठा)
चारु चित्रसाला गृह गृह प्रति लिखे बनाइ। राम चरित जे निरख मुनि ते मन लेहिं चोराइ।।27।।
cāru citrasālā gṛha gṛha prati likhe banāi | rāma carita je nirakha muni te mana lehiṃ corāi ||27||
In every home were lovely painted halls, adorned with drawings; and the sages who beheld the deeds of Rama found their minds stolen away—utterly captivated.
Verse 72 (चौपाई)
सुमन बाटिका सबहिं लगाई। बिबिध भाँति करि जतन बनाई।। लता ललित बहु जाति सुहाई। फूलहिं सदा बंसत कि नाई।। गुंजत मधुकर मुखर मनोहर। मारुत त्रिबिध सदा बह सुंदर।। नाना खग बालकन्हि जिआए। बोलत मधुर उड़ात सुहाए।। मोर हंस सारस पारावत। भवननि पर सोभा अति पावत।। जहँ तहँ देखहिं निज परिछाहीं। बहु बिधि कूजहिं नृत्य कराहीं।। सुक सारिका पढ़ावहिं बालक। कहहु राम रघुपति जनपालक।। राज दुआर सकल बिधि चारू। बीथीं चौहट रूचिर बजारू।।

All had planted flower-gardens, carefully made in many ways. Lovely creepers of many kinds were ever in bloom, as though spring itself never passed. Bees hummed sweetly, and a gentle, various breeze always blew. Children reared many kinds of birds; they spoke melodiously and flew about in delight. Peacocks, swans, cranes, and doves added great beauty upon the houses. Here and there, seeing their own reflections, they chirped in many ways and were made to dance. Children taught parrots and mynahs to recite: ‘Speak of Rama, Raghupati, protector of the people!’ The royal gateway was beautiful in every way; the streets, crossroads, and markets were charming.
Verse 73 (छंद)
बाजार रुचिर न बनइ बरनत बस्तु बिनु गथ पाइए। जहँ भूप रमानिवास तहँ की संपदा किमि गाइए।। बैठे बजाज सराफ बनिक अनेक मनहुँ कुबेर ते। सब सुखी सब सच्चरित सुंदर नारि नर सिसु जरठ जे।।
bājāra rucira na banai baranata bastu binu gatha pāiye. jahã bhūpa ramā-nivāsa tahã kī saṁpadā kimi gāiye. baiṭhe bajāja sarāpha banika aneka manahũ kubera te. saba sukhī saba saccarita sundara nāri nara sisu jaraṭha je.
The bazaar was so charming that to describe it one would need a full, well-linked account, not a mere stray thread of words. Where the King—Rama, the very abode of Lakshmi—dwelt, how could one sing the praises of that prosperity? Cloth-dealers, jewelers, and merchants sat in rows, as though they were Kuberas in multitude. All were happy, all of upright conduct—women and men, children and the aged alike—beautiful in bearing and life.
Verse 74 (दोहा/सोरठा)
उत्तर दिसि सरजू बह निर्मल जल गंभीर। बाँधे घाट मनोहर स्वल्प पंक नहिं तीर।।28।।
uttara disi sarajū baha nirmala jala gambhīra. bā̃dhe ghāṭa manohara svalpa paṅka nahĩ tīra. ||28||
To the north flowed the Sarayu, her waters pure and deep. Lovely ghats were built along her, and on her banks there was scarcely any mud.

दूरि फराक रुचिर सो घाटा। जहँ जल पिअहिं बाजि गज ठाटा।। पनिघट परम मनोहर नाना। तहाँ न पुरुष करहिं अस्नाना।। राजघाट सब बिधि सुंदर बर। मज्जहिं तहाँ बरन चारिउ नर।। तीर तीर देवन्ह के मंदिर। चहुँ दिसि तिन्ह के उपबन सुंदर।। कहुँ कहुँ सरिता तीर उदासी। बसहिं ग्यान रत मुनि संन्यासी।। तीर तीर तुलसिका सुहाई। बृंद बृंद बहु मुनिन्ह लगाई।। पुर सोभा कछु बरनि न जाई। बाहेर नगर परम रुचिराई।। देखत पुरी अखिल अघ भागा। बन उपबन बापिका तड़ागा।।

Far and wide stretched those lovely ghats, where horses and elephants drank in ordered rows. Many water-steps were exquisitely made; there men did not bathe. The royal ghat was perfect in every way; there bathed people of all the four varnas. Along every bank stood temples of the gods, with beautiful groves on all sides. Here and there on the river’s edge lived detached ascetics—sages and renunciants absorbed in spiritual knowledge. On each bank tulsi plants looked splendid, planted in clusters by many sages. The city’s splendor cannot be described; even outside the town all was exceedingly delightful. At the sight of that city all sin fled away—forests and gardens, wells and ponds everywhere.
Verse 76 (छंद)
बापीं तड़ाग अनूप कूप मनोहरायत सोहहीं। सोपान सुंदर नीर निर्मल देखि सुर मुनि मोहहीं।। बहु रंग कंज अनेक खग कूजहिं मधुप गुंजारहीं। आराम रम्य पिकादि खग रव जनु पथिक हंकारहीं।।
bāpī̃ taṛāga anūpa kūpa manoharāyata sohahī̃. sopāna sundara nīra nirmala dekhi sura muni mohahī̃. bahu raṅga kañja aneka khaga kūjahī̃ madhupa gũjārahī̃. ārāma ramya pikādi khaga rava janu pathika hãkārahī̃.
Matchless step-wells, ponds, and charming wells adorned the land. Their fair steps and spotless waters, when seen, enchanted even gods and sages. Lotuses of many hues bloomed; countless birds sang, and bees hummed. In the delightful gardens, the calls of cuckoos and other birds seemed as though they were beckoning the traveler onward.
Verse 77 (दोहा/सोरठा)
रमानाथ जहँ राजा सो पुर बरनि कि जाइ। अनिमादिक सुख संपदा रहीं अवध सब छाइ।।29।।
ramā-nātha jahã rājā so pura barani ki jāi. animādika sukha saṁpadā rahī̃ avadha saba chāi. ||29||
How can that city be described where Rama—the Lord of Lakshmi—was king? In Ayodhya every happiness and prosperity, even anima and the other perfections, lay spread everywhere.
Verse 78 (चौपाई)
जहँ तहँ नर रघुपति गुन गावहिं। बैठि परसपर इहइ सिखावहिं।। भजहु प्रनत प्रतिपालक रामहि। सोभा सील रूप गुन धामहि। जलज बिलोचन स्यामल गातहि। पलक नयन इव सेवक त्रातहि। धृत सर रुचिर चाप तूनीरहि। संत कंज बन रबि रनधीरहि। काल कराल ब्याल खगराजहि। नमत राम अकाम ममता जहि। लोभ मोह मृगजूथ किरातहि। मनसिज करि हरि जन सुखदातहि। संसय सोक निबिड़ तम भानुहि। दनुज गहन घन दहन कृसानुहि। जनकसुता समेत रघुबीरहि। कस न भजहु भंजन भव भीरहि। बहु बासना मसक हिम रासिहि। सदा एकरस अज अबिनासिहि। मुनि रंजन भंजन महि भारहि। तुलसिदास के प्रभुहि उदारहि।।

Everywhere men sing the virtues of the Lord of Raghu; sitting together, they teach one another this very lesson: “Worship Rama, the Protector of the surrendered—an abode of splendor, graciousness, beauty, and excellence. Lotus-eyed, dark-limbed, He saves His servants as eyelids guard the eyes. Bearing arrows, a lovely bow and quiver, He is the sun that makes the saints’ lotus-grove bloom, and a steadfast hero in battle. To dreadful Time and the serpent of terror He is Garuḍa; bowing to Rama, desire and possessiveness depart. He is the hunter of the herd of delusion and greed; He slays Cupid-like lust and gives His people happiness. He is the sun to the dense darkness of doubt and grief; He is the fire that burns the thick forest of demons. With Janaka’s daughter beside Him, Raghuvira destroys the fear of worldly existence—how can you not adore Him? For the heap of snow that is the multitude of cravings He is the mosquito’s bane; ever of one essence, unborn and imperishable. Delighting sages and removing the earth’s burden—such is the generous Lord of Tulsidas.”
Verse 79 (दोहा/सोरठा)
एहि बिधि नगर नारि नर करहिं राम गुन गान। सानुकूल सब पर रहहिं संतत कृपानिधान।।30।।
ehi bidhi nagara nāri nara karahĩ rāma guna-gāna | sānukūla saba para rahahĩ santata kṛpā-nidhāna ||30||
Thus, throughout the city, women and men sing Rama’s virtues; and the Treasure of compassion remains ever favorable to all.
Verse 80 (चौपाई)
जब ते राम प्रताप खगेसा। उदित भयउ अति प्रबल दिनेसा।। पूरि प्रकास रहेउ तिहुँ लोका। बहुतेन्ह सुख बहुतन मन सोका।। जिन्हहि सोक ते कहउँ बखानी। प्रथम अबिद्या निसा नसानी।। अघ उलूक जहँ तहाँ लुकाने। काम क्रोध कैरव सकुचाने।। बिबिध कर्म गुन काल सुभाऊ। ए चकोर सुख लहहिं न काऊ।। मत्सर मान मोह मद चोरा। इन्ह कर हुनर न कवनिहुँ ओरा।। धरम तड़ाग ग्यान बिग्याना। ए पंकज बिकसे बिधि नाना।। सुख संतोष बिराग बिबेका। बिगत सोक ए कोक अनेका।।

Since Rama’s glory rose—O Garuḍa—like a mighty sun newly arisen, light filled the three worlds. Many found happiness; yet in many hearts sorrow remained. Of those who still sorrow, I shall explain: first, the night of ignorance was dispelled. Sin, the owl, hid away; lust and wrath, like night-blooming lilies, shrank. But the various dispositions of action, qualities, time, and habit—these chakor-like natures found no joy in that light. Envy, pride, delusion, and intoxicated arrogance are thieves; their craft finds refuge nowhere. In the pond of dharma, knowledge and realized wisdom—lotuses bloomed in many ways; happiness, contentment, dispassion, and discernment—many cuckoos sang, and grief was gone.
Verse 81 (दोहा/सोरठा)
यह प्रताप रबि जाकें उर जब करइ प्रकास। पछिले बाढ़हिं प्रथम जे कहे ते पावहिं नास।।31।।
yaha pratāpa rabi jākẽ ura jaba karai prakāsa | pachile bāṛhahĩ prathama je kahe te pāvahĩ nāsa ||31||
When this sun of glory shines within one’s heart, the lagging tendencies first mentioned swell no more—they meet their end.
Verse 82 (चौपाई)
भ्रातन्ह सहित रामु एक बारा। संग परम प्रिय पवनकुमारा।। सुंदर उपबन देखन गए। सब तरु कुसुमित पल्लव नए।। जानि समय सनकादिक आए। तेज पुंज गुन सील सुहाए।। ब्रह्मानंद सदा लयलीना। देखत बालक बहुकालीना।। रूप धरें जनु चारिउ बेदा। समदरसी मुनि बिगत बिभेदा।। आसा बसन ब्यसन यह तिन्हहीं। रघुपति चरित होइ तहँ सुनहीं।। तहाँ रहे सनकादि भवानी। जहँ घटसंभव मुनिबर ग्यानी।। राम कथा मुनिबर बहु बरनी। ग्यान जोनि पावक जिमि अरनी।।

Once Rama, with His brothers, went to view a lovely grove, with His most beloved Hanuman beside Him; every tree was in bloom, with fresh new shoots. Knowing the time to be ripe, Sanaka and the other sages arrived—masses of radiance, adorned with virtue and gentle excellence—ever absorbed in the bliss of Brahman, though appearing like ancient children. They seemed as if the four Vedas had taken form: equal-seeing sages, free of all divisive difference. Their one ‘addiction’ was this alone—that wherever the deeds of the Lord of Raghu are spoken, there they listen. There, O Bhavani, Sanaka and the rest stayed, where the wise best of sages, Agastya (born of the pot), also dwelt. The great sages described Rama’s कथा in many ways; it is the very source of knowledge, like fire kindled from the arani sticks.
Verse 83 (दोहा/सोरठा)
देखि राम मुनि आवत हरषि दंडवत कीन्ह। स्वागत पूँछि पीत पट प्रभु बैठन कहँ दीन्ह।।32।।
dekhi rāma muni āvata haraṣi daṇḍavata kīnha | savāgata pūँchi pīta paṭa prabhu baiṭhana kahaँ dīnha ||32||
Seeing the sage approach, Rāma rejoiced and made full prostration. He welcomed him, inquired after his welfare, and offered a yellow cloth as a seat.
Verse 84 (चौपाई)
कीन्ह दंडवत तीनिउँ भाई। सहित पवनसुत सुख अधिकाई।। मुनि रघुपति छबि अतुल बिलोकी। भए मगन मन सके न रोकी।। स्यामल गात सरोरुह लोचन। सुंदरता मंदिर भव मोचन।। एकटक रहे निमेष न लावहिं। प्रभु कर जोरें सीस नवावहिं।। तिन्ह कै दसा देखि रघुबीरा। स्त्रवत नयन जल पुलक सरीरा।। कर गहि प्रभु मुनिबर बैठारे। परम मनोहर बचन उचारे।। आजु धन्य मैं सुनहु मुनीसा। तुम्हरें दरस जाहिं अघ खीसा।। बड़े भाग पाइब सतसंगा। बिनहिं प्रयास होहिं भव भंगा।।

All three brothers, with the Wind’s son, prostrated; their joy only increased. The sage, beholding Raghupati’s incomparable beauty, became enraptured—his mind could not be restrained. Dark of limb, lotus-eyed, a temple of beauty and the deliverer from worldly bondage—he stood gazing without a blink, palms joined, head bowed. Seeing their state, Raghubīra’s eyes overflowed and his body thrilled with devotion. Taking the sage by the hand, the Lord seated the best of ascetics and spoke words most delightful: “Today I am blessed—hear me, O sage. By your दर्शन, sins are driven away. Great is the fortune that gains the company of saints; without effort, the bondage of becoming is broken.”
Verse 85 (दोहा/सोरठा)
संत संग अपबर्ग कर कामी भव कर पंथ। कहहि संत कबि कोबिद श्रुति पुरान सदग्रंथ।।33।।
saṁta saṅga apabarga kara kāmī bhava kara paṁtha | kahahiṁ saṁta kabi kobida śruti purāna sadagraṁtha ||33||
The company of saints leads to liberation; the desire-driven follow the road that forges worldly bondage. So declare saints, poets, the wise, and the Vedas, Purāṇas, and all true scriptures.
Verse 86 (चौपाई)
सुनि प्रभु बचन हरषि मुनि चारी। पुलकित तन अस्तुति अनुसारी।। जय भगवंत अनंत अनामय। अनघ अनेक एक करुनामय।। जय निर्गुन जय जय गुन सागर। सुख मंदिर सुंदर अति नागर।। जय इंदिरा रमन जय भूधर। अनुपम अज अनादि सोभाकर।। ग्यान निधान अमान मानप्रद। पावन सुजस पुरान बेद बद।। तग्य कृतग्य अग्यता भंजन। नाम अनेक अनाम निरंजन।। सर्ब सर्बगत सर्ब उरालय। बससि सदा हम कहुँ परिपालय।। द्वंद बिपति भव फंद बिभंजय। ह्रदि बसि राम काम मद गंजय।।
suni prabhu bacana haraṣi muni cārī | pulakita tana astuti anusārī || jaya bhagavaṁta anaṁta anāmaya | anagha aneka eka karuṇāmaya || jaya nirguṇa jaya jaya guṇa sāgara | sukha maṁdira suṁdara ati nāgara || jaya iṁdirā ramana jaya bhūdhara | anupama aja anādi sobhākara || gyāna nidhāna amāna mānaprada | pāvana sujasa purāna beda bada || tagya kṛtagya agyatā bhaṁjana | nāma aneka anāma niraṁjana || sarba sarbagata sarba urālaya | basasi sadā hama kahaुँ paripālaya || dvaṁda bipati bhava phaṁda bibhaṁjaya | hr̥di basi rāma kāma mada gaṁjaya ||
Hearing the Lord’s words, the four sages rejoiced; their bodies thrilled, and praise flowed forth: “Victory to the Blessed Lord—endless, free from all affliction; sinless, many in manifestations yet One, made wholly of compassion. Victory to the Attribute-less; victory again to the Ocean of attributes—abode of bliss, supremely fair and wise. Victory to the Beloved of Lakṣmī, the Upholder of the earth—unmatched, unborn, beginningless, the maker of splendor. Treasury of knowledge, beyond pride yet the giver of honor; whose pure fame is celebrated by the Vedas and Purāṇas. Knower of truth, grateful, destroyer of ignorance; bearing many Names, yet Nameless, stainless. All in all, all-pervading, dwelling in every heart—ever abide with us and protect us. Shatter dualities, calamities, and the snare of becoming; dwell in our hearts, O Rāma, and crush desire and pride.”
Verse 87 (दोहा/सोरठा)
परमानंद कृपायतन मन परिपूरन काम। प्रेम भगति अनपायनी देहु हमहि श्रीराम।।34।।
paramānaṁda kṛpāyatana mana paripūrana kāma | prema bhagati anapāyinī dehu hamahi śrīrāma ||34||
O Śrī Rāma—supreme bliss, abode of mercy, fulfiller of every true aim—grant us love-filled devotion that never departs.
