Educational Q&A

Hoarding (sañcaya) inevitably brings anxiety and danger; therefore one should renounce accumulation, endure the discomfort of letting go, and value a righteous, non-grasping livelihood—accepting what comes justly and naturally rather than pursuing excess.

Vaiśampāyana, in his ongoing narration, states a general ethical maxim: accumulated wealth makes one vulnerable to troubles, so dhārmic people commend contentment and a life without acquisitive striving.
