भीष्मस्य सेनापत्यप्रतिज्ञा तथा रथसंख्यावर्णनम् | Bhishma Accepts Command and Enumerates Kaurava Strength
अभिमानस्यथ दर्पस्य क्रोधपारुष्ययोस्तथा । नैप्ठुयस्यावलेपस्य आत्मसम्भावनस्य च
abhimānasyatha darpasya krodhapāruṣyayostathā | naiṣṭhuryasyāvalepasyātmasambhāvanasya ca
သဉ္ဇယက ပြောသည်– «(သူသည် အပြစ်များကို) ကိုယ်ကိုကြီးမြတ်ထင်ခြင်းနှင့် မာနကြီးခြင်း၊ ဒေါသနှင့် ကြမ်းတမ်းစကား၊ ထို့အတူ ရက်စက်မှု၊ မျက်နှာမထားသော မာနတက်ခြင်း၊ ကိုယ်ကိုမြှောက်တင်ခြင်းတို့ကို ဆို하였다—ထိုအကျင့်ဆိုးများသည် အမြင်အာရုံကို ပုပ်ပျက်စေ၍ ဓမ္မတရားကို လိုက်နာခြင်းကို ချိုးဖောက်စေသည်»။
