मुचुकुन्दस्य राजर्षेरददात् पृथिवीमिमाम् | पुरा वैश्रवण: प्रीतो न चासौ तां गृहीतवान्
mucukundasya rājarṣer adadāt pṛthivīm imām | purā vaiśravaṇaḥ prīto na cāsau tāṁ gṛhītavān |
ရှေးကာလတုန်းက ဥစ္စာဓန၏ အရှင် Vaiśravaṇa (Kubera) သည် ရာဇဋ္ဌိ မုချုကွန်ဒ (Mucukunda) အပေါ် ပျော်ရွှင်နှစ်သက်၍ ဤမြေကြီးတစ်လုံးလုံးကို ပေးအပ်လိုက်သော်လည်း မုချုကွန်ဒက မလက်ခံခဲ့ပေ။
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse teaches restraint and non-attachment: even the offer of sovereignty over the whole earth, coming from a powerful deity of wealth, may be refused by a dharmic ruler who prioritizes inner discipline and rightful conduct over acquisition.
Vāyu recounts an earlier episode: Kubera (Vaiśravaṇa), pleased with the royal sage Mucukunda, offered him the entire earth, but Mucukunda declined to accept it—presented as an example of exemplary self-control and dharmic choice.
