Vāmadeva’s Rājadharma: Norm-Setting, Counsel, and the Prevention of Rāṣṭra-Vināśa (वामदेव-प्रोक्तं राजधर्मम्)
किसी बलवान् शत्रुका अपकार करके हम दूर जाकर रहेंगे, ऐसा समझकर निश्चिन्त नहीं होना चाहिये; क्योंकि जैसे बाज पक्षी झपट्टा मारता है, उसी प्रकार ये दूरस्थ शत्रु भी असावधानीकी अवस्थामें टूट पड़ते हैं ।।
dṛḍhamūlas tv aduṣṭātmā viditvā balam ātmanaḥ | abalān abhiyuñjīta na tu ye balavattarāḥ ||
ဝါမဒေဝက မိန့်တော်မူသည်။ အားကြီးသော ရန်သူကို အပြစ်ပြုထားပြီး အဝေးသို့ သွားနေရင် လုံခြုံမည်ဟု မထင်သင့်။ သိမ်းငှက်က လျင်မြန်စွာ ဆင်းသက်သကဲ့သို့၊ အဝေးရှိ ရန်သူပင်လျှင် မပေါ့ဆချိန်တွင် ရုတ်တရက် ထိုးဖောက်လာနိုင်သည်။ ထို့ကြောင့် မင်းသည် မိမိအခြေစိုက်ရာကို ခိုင်မာလုံခြုံစေ၍ ရန်သူတပ်များကို အဝေးတွင် ထိန်းထားကာ မိမိအင်အားကို တိတိကျကျ ချိန်ဆသိမြင်ရမည်။ ထို့နောက်မှသာ မိမိထက် အားနည်းသော ရန်သူကိုသာ တိုက်ခိုက်သင့်ပြီး မိမိထက် အားကြီးသူကို မတိုက်ခိုက်သင့်။
