Parāśara’s Counsel on बुद्धि (Discernment), Karma-Consequences, and Avoidance of Pāpānubandha Actions

ते समासाद्य वरदं वासवं लोकपूजितम्‌ । ऊचुरेकाग्रमनसो जहि वृत्रमिति प्रभो

te samāsādya varadaṃ vāsavaṃ lokapūjitam | ūcur ekāgramanaso jahi vṛtram iti prabho || tatpaścāt buddhimān bṛhaspatiḥ mahātejasvī vasiṣṭhaḥ tathā sampūrṇā maharṣayaḥ varadāyakaṃ lokapūjitaṃ śatakratuṃ indram upetyaikāgracittāḥ evam ūcuḥ— “prabho! vṛtrāsurasya vadhaṃ kuru” |

ဘီရှ္မက ဆို၏—လောကတို့က ပူဇော်လေးစားသော ဆုတောင်းပေးသူ ဝာသဝ (အိန္ဒြ) ထံသို့ သူတို့ ချဉ်းကပ်ကြ၏။ စိတ်ကို တစ်ချက်တည်းသို့ တည်ငြိမ်စွာ စုစည်းကာ “အရှင်ဘုရား၊ ဗೃထ္ရကို သတ်ပါ” ဟု ဆိုကြ၏။ ထို့နောက် ပညာရှိ ဘృဟஸပတိ၊ တေဇောကြီးသော ဝသိဋ္ဌနှင့် စုံလင်သော ရှင်ရသီတို့သည် ဆုတောင်းပေးသူအဖြစ် ကျော်ကြား၍ ပူဇော်ခံရသော သတကရတု အိန္ဒြထံသို့ သွားရောက်ကာ စိတ်အာရုံတည်ကြည်စွာ “အရှင်ဘုရား၊ ဗೃထ္ရာဆုရ၏ သေခြင်းကို ဖြစ်စေပါ” ဟု တိုက်တွန်းကြ၏။
