भीष्म उवाच शृणु पार्थ यथावृत्तमितिहासं पुरातनम् । गृध्रजम्बुकसंवादं यो वृत्तो नैमिषे पुरा
bhīṣma uvāca: śṛṇu pārtha yathāvṛttam itihāsaṃ purātanam | gṛdhra-jambuka-saṃvādaṃ yo vṛtto naimiṣe purā ||
ဘီရှ္မက မိန့်တော်မူသည်—«ပಾರ್ಥာရေ၊ ဖြစ်ပျက်ခဲ့သကဲ့သို့ တိတိကျကျ မှန်ကန်သော ရှေးဟောင်းအတ္ထုပ္ပတ္တိကို နားထောင်လော့။ ဟိုးအရင်က နိုင်မိရှာ၌ လင်းတစ်ကောင်နှင့် မြေခွေးတစ်ကောင်တို့၏ ဆွေးနွေးပြောဆိုမှုတစ်ရပ် ဖြစ်ပွားခဲ့၏—ထိုရှေးပုံပြင်ကို နားထောင်လော့»။
