उपदिष्टो हि मे धर्म: कपोतेन महात्मना । “अब मैं पापसे मुह मोड़कर स्त्री, पुत्र तथा अपने प्यारे प्राणोंका भी परित्याग कर दूँगा। महात्मा कबूतरने मुझे विशुद्ध धर्मका उपदेश दिया है
upadiṣṭo hi me dharmaḥ kapotena mahātmanā |
ဘိရှ္မက ပြောသည်– «အမှန်ပင် မဟာစိတ်ရှိသော ခိုက ငါ့အား ဓမ္မကို သင်ကြားပေးခဲ့သည်။ အပြစ်မှ မျက်နှာလွှဲကာ ငါသည် မယား၊ သားနှင့် ငါချစ်မြတ်နိုးသော အသက်ရှူသံတိုင်အောင်ပင် စွန့်လွှတ်မည်»။ ဤအတွေးအခေါ်တွင် စစ်မှန်သော တရားမတ်တည်မှုသည် အမြင့်ဆုံးသော ကိုယ်ပိုင်စွန့်လွှတ်မှုကို တောင်းဆိုနိုင်ကြောင်းနှင့် သေးငယ်သော သတ္တဝါတစ်ကောင်၏ ဥပမာမှပင် သီလအလင်းရောင် ပေါ်ထွန်းနိုင်ကြောင်းကို ဇာတ်လမ်းက ထင်ဟပ်ပြသည်။
