आपद्धर्मे कोशबलन्यायः | Treasury, Force, and Crisis-Ethics for the King
तब मुनिने कहा--राजन्! आपके उस पुत्रने पहले कभी मूढ़ बुद्धिका आश्रय लेकर अपने दुर्भाग्यके कारण एक पूजनीय महर्षिका अपमान कर दिया था ।।
bhīṣma uvāca | arthayan kalaśaṃ rājan kāñcanaṃ valkalāni ca | avajñāpūrvakeṇāpi na sampāditavāṃs tataḥ | nirviṇṇaḥ sa tu viprarṣiḥ niśiśe samapadyata rājan ||
ဘီရှ္မက ပြောသည်– «အို မင်းကြီး၊ သင်၏သားသည် တစ်ခါက မိုက်မဲသော အဆုံးအဖြတ်ကို အားကိုး၍ မိမိ၏ ကံမကောင်းမှုကြောင့် ဂုဏ်သိက္ခာရှိသော မဟာရိရှီတစ်ပါးကို စော်ကားခဲ့ဖူးသည်။ ထိုရိရှီသည် ရွှေဖြင့်ပြုလုပ်သော ရေခွက်(ကလသ)နှင့် သစ်ခွံဝတ်စုံတို့ကို တောင်းခံခဲ့သော်လည်း သင်၏သားသည် မထီမဲ့မြင်ပြုလျက်ပင် တောင်းဆိုသမျှကို မပြည့်စုံစေခဲ့။ ထို့ကြောင့် ထိုဗြဟ္မဏရိရှီသည် အလွန်စိတ်ပျက်ကာ ညအခါ၌ စိတ်ပျက်ခြင်းမှ ပေါ်လာသော လမ်းစဉ်တစ်ရပ်ကို ဆုံးဖြတ်လိုက်သည်»။
