अध्याय ४ — दुर्योधनस्य असंधि-निश्चयः
Duryodhana’s Refusal of Reconciliation
एतत् क्षेममहं मन्ये न च पार्थश्च विग्रहम् । नत्वां ब्रवीमि कार्पण्यान्न प्राणपरिरक्षणात्
etat kṣemam ahaṃ manye na ca pārthaś ca vigraham | na tvāṃ bravīmi kārpaṇyān na prāṇaparirakṣaṇāt ||
သဉ္ဇယက ပြောသည်– «ဤလမ်းစဉ်ကို ငါက ပိုမိုလုံခြုံ၍ အကျိုးရှိသော လမ်းဟု ထင်သည်။ ပာရ္ထ (အာర్జုန) သည် အငြင်းပွားမှုထဲ မဝင်သင့်ဟုလည်း ငါမထင်။ ငါသည် ဤစကားကို ကျပ်တည်းသော ကြောက်ရွံ့စိတ်ကြောင့် မဟုတ်၊ ကိုယ့်အသက်ကို ကာကွယ်လိုသည့် ဆန္ဒကြောင့်လည်း မဟုတ်ဘဲ ပြောခြင်းဖြစ်သည်»။
