Educational Q&A

People naturally admire their own way of thinking; each takes his own judgment to be ‘good’ and becomes content with it. The verse highlights how self-approval can mask error, especially in morally charged situations.

Sanjaya offers a reflective observation about human psychology—how individuals justify themselves by their own intelligence—setting the tone for the night-raid context of the Sauptika Parva, where characters act under the sway of their own convictions.
