घतरयाट्र उवाच
The verse highlights how affection (prīti) and respect (bahumāna) are socially enacted through gifts, especially in royal settings; it also hints at the ethical tension that wealth and honor can strengthen bonds yet may feed attachment to status and power.
Dhṛtarāṣṭra is assuring the addressee that other rulers will come bearing abundant wealth, gems, and ornaments, presenting these offerings as tokens of goodwill and deference within the courtly-political milieu of the Sabha Parva.
