Jarā’s Account and the Enthronement of Jarāsandha (जरासंधोत्पत्तिः अभिषेकश्च)
gaṅgāyamunayor madhye mūrtimān iva sāgaraḥ |
The verse uses a grand simile to present ideal kingship: true majesty is not mere display but a centered, harmonious presence—like the ocean’s vastness held between two sacred rivers—suggesting balance, dignity, and auspicious order.
Kṛṣṇa describes a royal scene in which a king sits between his two queens; the onlookers perceive him as extraordinarily splendid, comparable to the embodied ocean between the Gaṅgā and Yamunā.
