दृष्टवा तयोस्तं युधि सम्प्रहारं परस्परस्यान्तरमीक्षमाणयो: । घोरं तयोर्दु्विषहं रणे<न्यै- योधा: सर्वे विस्मयम भ्यगच्छन्‌

sañjaya uvāca | dṛṣṭvā tayos taṃ yudhi samprāhāraṃ parasparasyāntaram īkṣamāṇayoḥ | ghoraṃ tayor durviṣahaṃ raṇe 'nyair yodhāḥ sarve vismayam abhyagacchan ||

သဉ္ဇယက ပြောသည်– «စစ်မြေ၌ ထိုနှစ်ဦး၏ ထိပ်တိုက်တိုက်ခိုက်မှုကို မြင်၍—တစ်ဦးချင်းစီက တစ်ဦးကို ထိုးနှက်ရန် အခွင့်အရေးကို ရှာဖွေကာ အားနည်းရာကို စူးစမ်းကြည့်နေကြသဖြင့်—အခြားသူရဲကောင်းမည်သူမျှ မခံနိုင်လောက်အောင် ကြမ်းတမ်းသည့် ထိုးနှက်ပြန်လှန်မှုကို တွေ့မြင်သော် စစ်မြေ၌ ရပ်နေသော စစ်သည်အားလုံး အံ့အားသင့်၍ တုန်လှုပ်သွားကြ၏»။
