Chapter 7: Dvīpa–Varṣa–Meru-varṇana
Description of the Dvīpa, Varṣas, and Mount Meru
उत्तरा: कुरवो राजन् व्याख्यातास्ते समासतः । मेरो: पार्श्वमहं पूर्व वक्ष्याम्यथ यथातथम्
uttarāḥ kuravo rājan vyākhyātās te samāsataḥ | meroḥ pārśvam ahaṃ pūrvaṃ vakṣyāmy atha yathātatham ||
သဉ္ဇယက ပြောသည်—အို ရာဇာ၊ ဥတ္တရကုရုဒေသကို သင့်အား အကျဉ်းချုပ် ဖော်ပြပြီးပြီ။ ယခုမှစ၍ မေရုတောင်၏ အရှေ့ဘက်၌ တည်ရှိသော ဘဒြာရှွ ဒေသကို အစဉ်အတိုင်း၊ အမှန်အတိုင်း ငါဖော်ပြမည်။
संजय उवाच
The verse foregrounds disciplined narration and truthfulness: the speaker promises an orderly, accurate account (“yathātatham”), modeling responsible speech and reliable transmission of knowledge to the king.
Sanjaya, addressing King Dhṛtarāṣṭra, concludes a brief description of Uttara-Kuru and transitions to the next geographical section: Bhadrāśva, located on the eastern side of Mount Meru.
