भीष्मस्य भीमसेन-निरोधः

यश्च हेतुरवध्यत्वे तेषामक्लिष्टकर्मणाम् । तं शृुणुष्व महाबाहो मम कीर्तयतः प्रभो,महाबाहो! प्रभो! अनायास ही महान् कर्म करनेवाले पाण्डवोंके अवध्य होनेमें जो हेतु है, उसे बताता हूँ, सुनो
yaś ca hetur avadhyatve teṣām akliṣṭa-karmaṇām | taṃ śṛṇuṣva mahābāho mama kīrtayataḥ prabho ||
ဘီရှ္မက ပြောသည်– «လက်တန်ခိုးကြီးသော အရှင်၊ ငါပြောကြားမည့်အတိုင်း နားထောင်လော့။ အားထုတ်ပင်ပန်းမှုမရှိဘဲ၊ သီလသမာဓိအညစ်အကြေးမကပ်သော ကုသိုလ်ကမ္မတို့ကို ဆောင်ရွက်နိုင်သည့် ပाण्डဝတို့သည် အဘယ်ကြောင့် သတ်မရနိုင်သနည်းဟူသော အကြောင်းရင်းကို ငါကြေညာမည်။ သူတို့၏ မဖောက်ဖျက်နိုင်သော အကာအကွယ်၏ အကြောင်းကို ငါထံမှ နားထောင်လော့»။
