भीष्मधनंजयद्वैरथम्
Bhīṣma–Dhanaṃjaya Duel and the Opening Clash
तेषां मध्ये स्थितो राजन पुत्रो दुर्योधनस्तव । अब्रवीत् तावकान् सर्वान् युद्धाध्वमिति दंशिता:
teṣāṁ madhye sthito rājan putro duryodhanas tava | abravīt tāvakān sarvān yuddhadhvam iti daṁśitāḥ ||
သဉ္ဇယက ပြော၏— အရှင်မင်းကြီး၊ သူတို့အလယ်၌ ရပ်နေသော သင်၏သား ဒုရ്യೋಧနသည် သင်ဘက် စစ်သူရဲအားလုံးကို “သံချပ်ကာဝတ် သူရဲကောင်းတို့၊ တိုက်ကြလော့—စစ်ပွဲကို စတင်ကြလော့” ဟု ဆို၏။
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how leadership speech can catalyze collective action in war: Duryodhana frames immediate combat as the proper course for his side, reflecting the tension between factional loyalty and the broader ethical ideal of restraint.
Sañjaya reports to the king that Duryodhana, positioned among the assembled Kaurava forces, addresses all his warriors and commands them to commence fighting.
