सम्पूर्ण भक्ष्य-भोज्य पदार्थोंमें अन्न श्रेष्ठ कहा जाता है। बहनेवाले और सभी पीनेयोग्य पदार्थोमें जल उत्तम है ।।

Transliteration

sthāvarāṇāṁ tu bhūtānāṁ sarveṣām aviśeṣataḥ | brahmakṣetraṁ sadā puṇyaṁ plakṣaḥ prathamataḥ smṛtaḥ ||

Translation

ဝါယုဒေဝက မိန့်တော်မူသည်– «လှုပ်ရှားမနိုင်သော သတ္တဝါများ (သစ်ပင်စသည်) အားလုံးကို ခွဲခြားမထားဘဲ ကြည့်လျှင် ‘ဗြဟ္မက္ෂೇತ್ರ’ ဟုခေါ်သော သစ်ပင်သည် အမြဲတမ်း သန့်ရှင်းမြတ်စွာဟု ယူဆကြသည်။ ထို့ပြင် ပလက္ခ (plakṣa) သစ်ပင်ကိုလည်း အရှေ့ဆုံး၊ အထက်မြတ်ဆုံးဟု မှတ်ယူကြသည်»။
