Adhyāya 40: Brahmā on Mahān (The Great Principle) and the All-Pervading Puruṣa

महानात्मा मतिर्विष्णुर्जिष्णु: शम्भुश्न वीर्यवान्‌ । बुद्धि: प्रज्ञोपलब्धिश्व॒ तथा ख्यातिर्धति: स्मृति:

vāyudeva uvāca | mahān ātmā matir viṣṇur jiṣṇuḥ śambhuś ca vīryavān | buddhiḥ prajñopalabdhiś ca tathā khyātir dhṛtiḥ smṛtiḥ |

ဝါယုဒေဝက ဆိုသည်– «မဟာအတ္တ (Great Self) ကို အမည်တူအဓိပ္ပါယ်တူသော နာမများဖြင့် သိမြင်နိုင်သည်။ မဟာဝိညာဉ်၊ မတိ (ဉာဏ်), ဝိෂ္ဏု၊ ဇိෂ္ဏု (အောင်မြင်သူ), သမ္ဘု၊ ဗီရျဝါန် (အင်အားကြီးသူ) ဟူသကဲ့သို့လည်းကောင်း၊ ထို့ပြင် ဗုဒ္ဓိ (နားလည်မှု), ပရဇ္ဉာ (ပညာ), ဥပလဗ္ဓိ (တိုက်ရိုက်သိမြင်မှု), ချျာတိ (ဂုဏ်သတင်း), ဓြတိ (တည်ကြည်မှု), စ္မృతိ (မှတ်ဉာဏ်) ဟူ၍လည်း ခေါ်ကြသည်။ ထိုမဟာအတ္တ၏ တတ္တဝကို အမှန်တကယ် သိသော ပညာရှိ ဗြာဟ္မဏ မည်သည့်အခါမျှ မောဟထဲ မကျရောက်»။
