Kāma–Mamatā–Upadeśa

Discourse on Desire, Possessiveness, and Ritual Duty

कामात्मान॑ न प्रशंसन्ति लोके नेहाकामा काचिदस्ति प्रवृत्ति: । सर्वे कामा मनसोज्जप्रभूता यान्‌ पण्डित: संहरते विचिन्त्य

kāmātmānaṁ na praśaṁsanti loke nehākāmā kācid asti pravṛttiḥ | sarve kāmā manaso 'jja-prabhūtā yān paṇḍitaḥ saṁharate vicintya ||

ဝါယုက ပြောသည်— «လောက၌ ဆန္ဒတဏှာ၏ ကျွန်ဖြစ်နေသော စိတ်ရှိသူကို လူတို့ မချီးမွမ်းကြ။ ဤလောကတွင် ဆန္ဒမရှိဘဲ ဖြစ်ပေါ်လာသော လုပ်ငန်းတစ်ခုမျှ မရှိ၊ ဆန္ဒအားလုံးသည် စိတ်မှပင် ပေါက်ဖွားသည်။ ထို့ကြောင့် ပညာရှိတို့သည် ဆန္ဒကို ဒုက္ခ၏ အကြောင်းဟု သိမြင်ကာ နက်နက်ရှိုင်းရှိုင်း စဉ်းစားပြီး ထိန်းချုပ်၍ စွန့်လွှတ်ကြသည်»။
