भीष्म उवाच यथा श्राद्धं सम्प्रवृत्तं यस्मिन्‌ काले यदात्मकम्‌ । येन संकल्पितं चैव तन्‍्मे शूणु जनाधिप

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca | yathā śrāddhaṃ sampravṛttaṃ yasmin kāle yadātmakam | yena saṅkalpitaṃ caiva tan me śṛṇu janādhipa ||

Translation

ဘီရှ္မက ပြောသည်– «အို လူတို့၏အရှင်၊ ငါ့စကားကို နားထောင်လော့။ śrāddha (ရှရဒ္ဓ) ဟူသော ပူဇော်ကာရိယာသည် မည်သည့်ကာလ၌ မည်သို့စတင်ကျင့်သုံးလာခဲ့သည်၊ ၎င်း၏အနှစ်သာရသည် အဘယ်နည်း၊ ထို့ပြင် မည်သူက ပထမဦးဆုံး စိတ်ကူးကာ တည်ထောင်ပြုလုပ်ခဲ့သည်ကို ငါသည် သင့်အား ပြောပြမည်။»
