गवां लोकवर्णनं तथा गोप्रदानफलश्रुतिः

शुभे पात्रे ये गुणा गोप्रदाने तावान्‌ दोषो ब्राह्मणस्वापहारे । सर्वावस्थं ब्राह्मणस्वापहारो दाराश्नैषां दूरतो वर्जनीया:

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca | śubhe pātre ye guṇā gopradāne tāvān doṣo brāhmaṇasvāpahāre | sarvāvasthaṃ brāhmaṇasvāpahāro dārāś ca eṣāṃ dūrato varjanīyāḥ ||

Translation

ဘိဿမက မိန့်တော်မူသည်– «သင့်တော်သော လက်ခံသူအား နွားလှူဒါန်းခြင်းမှ ရသော ကုသိုလ်တန်ဖိုး မည်မျှရှိသနည်း၊ ဗြာဟ္မဏ၏ ဥစ္စာကို လုယူသော် ထိုမျှတန်ဖိုးတူ အပြစ်လည်း ဖြစ်ပေါ်သည်။ ထို့ကြောင့် မည်သည့်အခြေအနေမဆို ဗြာဟ္မဏတို့၏ ဥစ္စာကို မသိမ်းယူရ; ထို့ပြင် ဗြာဟ္မဏတို့၏ ဇနီးများနှင့် မတရားသော ဆက်ဆံမှုကိုလည်း အဝေးမှပင် ရှောင်ကြဉ်ရမည်»။
