Nṛga-upākhyāna: Brāhmaṇa-sva and the Consequence of Misappropriated Gift-Cattle (कृकलास-रूपे नृगोपाख्यानम्)
प्राणा वै प्राणिनामेते प्रोच्यन्ते भरतर्षभ । तस्माद् ददाति यो थेनुं प्राणानेष प्रयच्छति
prāṇā vai prāṇinām ete procyante bharatarṣabha | tasmād dadāti yo dhenuṁ prāṇān eṣa prayacchati ||
ဘီရှ္မက မိန့်ကြားသည်– «အို ဘာရတဝంశ၏ နွားထီးကဲ့သို့ သတ္တိရှိသူ၊ ဤနွားတို့ကို သက်ရှိအပေါင်း၏ “အသက်ရှူ” ဟု ခေါ်ဆိုကြသည်။ အခြားသူတို့ကို နို့ဖြင့်ပျိုးထောင်ကာ အသက်ကို ထောက်ပံ့သောကြောင့် ဖြစ်သည်။ ထို့ကြောင့် နို့ပေးနွားကို ဒါနပြုသူသည် အမှန်အားဖြင့် အသက်ကိုပင် ဒါနပြုသကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ်သည်»။
