पात्रलक्षण-परिक्षा (Pātra-Lakṣaṇa Parīkṣā) — Criteria for a Worthy Recipient

ब्राह्मणं जातिसम्पन्नं धर्मज्ञं संशितं शुचिम्‌ । अपरेषां परेषां च परेभ्यश्रैव येडपरे

brāhmaṇaṁ jātisampannaṁ dharmajñaṁ saṁśitaṁ śucim | apareṣāṁ pareṣāṁ ca parebhyaś caiva ye ’pare ||

ဝါယုက မိန့်တော်မူသည်– «ကောင်းမြတ်သော မျိုးရိုးမှ မွေးဖွား၍ ဓမ္မကို သိကျွမ်းကာ စည်းကမ်းတကျ တည်ကြည်၍ သန့်ရှင်းသော ဗြာဟ္မဏတစ်ဦး၏ မွေးဖွားခြင်းနှင့် ရှိနေခြင်းကိုလည်း ဆန္ဒပြုသင့်၏။ အနိမ့်သူနှင့် အမြင့်သူတို့အကြား၊ ထို့ပြင် အမြင့်ထက် အမြင့်သူတို့အကြား၌ပင် ဗြာဟ္မဏတို့ကို အမြင့်ဆုံးဟု မှတ်ယူကြသည်။ ထိုသို့သော ဗြာဟ္မဏတို့က ချီးမွမ်းသောသူသည် တိုးတက်ကြီးပွား၏; ဗြာဟ္မဏတို့ကို ရှုတ်ချသူမူ မကြာမီ အရှုံးကို တွေ့ရ၏»
