भीष्म उवाच इदं शृणु महाप्राज्ञ धर्मपुत्र महायश: । इतिहासं पुरावृत्तं शरणार्थ महाफलम्‌

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca idaṃ śṛṇu mahāprājña dharmaputra mahāyaśaḥ | itihāsaṃ purāvṛttaṃ śaraṇārtha mahāphalam ||

Translation

ဘိဿမ မိန့်သည်— «အလွန်ပညာကြီး၍ ဂုဏ်သတင်းကြီးသော ဓမ္မ၏သားတော်အို၊ ဤအကြောင်းကို နားထောင်လော့။ ခိုလှုံလာသူကို ကာကွယ်စောင့်ရှောက်ခြင်းမှ ရရှိသော မဟာအကျိုးဖလကို ဖော်ပြသည့် ရှေးကာလအဖြစ်အပျက်တစ်ပုဒ်ကို ငါ ပြောပြမည်»။
