ततश्च तं बली भीष्म: प्रगृह्म विपुलं भुजम् उद्यन्मेघस्वरो वाग्मी काले वचनमत्रवीत्,फिर प्रवचनकुशल बलवान भीष्मने युधिष्ठिरकी विशाल भुजा हाथमें लेकर मेघके समान गम्भीर वाणीमें यह समयोचित वचन कहा--
tataś ca taṃ balī bhīṣmaḥ pragṛhya vipulaṃ bhujam udyanmeghasvaro vāgmī kāle vacanam abravīt |
ထို့နောက် အင်အားကြီးသော ဘီရှ္မသည် သူ၏ကျယ်ပြန့်သောလက်မောင်းကို ကိုင်ယူကာ အချိန်သင့်တော်ရာတွင် စကားဆို하였다။ မိုးတိမ်မိုးကြိုးတက်လာသကဲ့သို့ နက်ရှိုင်းသောအသံနှင့် အပြောအဆိုကျွမ်းကျင်သူဖြစ်သော သူသည် သမယနှင့်ကိုက်ညီသောစကားများဖြင့် သူ့ကို မိန့်ကြားကာ—ဓမ္မအတိုင်း ပြုလုပ်သင့်သည့်အရာများအတွက် သီလဘောင်ကို ချမှတ်ပေး하였다။
