Remembering and reciting the names of dharmic, illustrious rulers is portrayed as a disciplined practice that inspires righteous conduct and yields religious merit (puṇya), reinforcing ideals of just kingship and ethical living.
Bhishma continues enumerating renowned kings/royal sages—Duṣyanta, Bharata the cakravartin, Pavana, Janaka, and Dṛṣṭaratha—as part of a longer catalogue meant for remembrance and recitation.
