Mahabharata — Anushasana Parva, Shloka 15
नित्येन ब्रह्मचर्येण लिड्रमस्य यदा स्थितम् । महयत्यस्य लोकक्न प्रियं होतन्महात्मन:
nityena brahmacaryeṇa liṅgam asya yadā sthitam | mahayaty asya lokānāṁ priyaṁ hotaṁ mahātmanāḥ ||
ဝါယုက ပြောသည်— «နေ့စဉ် ဗြဟ္မစရိယကို တည်ကြည်စွာ ထိန်းသိမ်းပြီး ဤ ရှိဝလင်္ဂကို အမြဲတမ်း ပူဇော်သူအတွက်၊ ထိုလင်္ဂသည် မဟာသတ္တဝါ သခင် ရှင်ကရာ (Śaṅkara) ထံ၌ အလွန်ချစ်ခင်တန်ဖိုးထားရာ ဖြစ်လာပြီး၊ လောကများကို ဂုဏ်တင်မြှောက်တင်စေသည်။ သင်ခန်းစာမှာ— စည်းကမ်းတကျ ကိုယ်ကိုထိန်းချုပ်ခြင်းနှင့် မပြတ်မလပ် သဒ္ဓါပူဇော်ခြင်း ပေါင်းစည်းလျှင် ရှိဝအတွက် အထူးနှစ်သက်ဖွယ် ဖြစ်ပြီး၊ ကိုယ်တိုင်ကိုသာမက ကျော်လွန်သည့် မင်္ဂလာအကျိုးကို ပေးတတ်သည်»။
