अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)
यः प्राणवन्तमात्मानं ज्योतिर्जीवस्थितं मन: । त॑ देवं दर्शनाकाड्क्षी बहून् वर्षमणानूषि:
yaḥ prāṇavantaṃ ātmānaṃ jyotir-jīva-sthitaṃ manaḥ | taṃ devaṃ darśanākāṅkṣī bahūn varṣam anūṣiḥ ||
ဝါယုက ဆိုသည်—“မိမိအတွင်း၌ အသက်ရှူသက်ရှိသော အတ္တကို သိမြင်သူ၊ အသက်ရှင်သော အလင်း၌ တည်သော စိတ်ကို သိမြင်သူသည် ထိုဒေဝတရားကို မြင်လိုသော ဆန္ဒဖြင့် တောင့်တမည်။ ထိုတောင့်တမှုကပင် သူ့ကို နှစ်ပေါင်းများစွာ ထောက်ပံ့ကာ နေထိုင်စေသည်။”
