Umā–Maheśvara Saṃvāda
मन्यते धर्म एवेति स चाधर्मेण लिप्यते | अग्नयस्तस्य कुप्यन्ति शूद्रयोनिं स गच्छति
manyate dharma eveti sa cādharmeṇa lipyate | agnayastasya kupyanti śūdrayoniṁ sa gacchati ||
သူက ‘ဤအရာသည် ဓမ္မပင်’ ဟု ထင်မြင်သော်လည်း အဓမ္မဖြင့်ပင် အညစ်အကြေးကပ်လျက် ဖြစ်လာသည်။ မီးသန့်တို့သည် သူ့အပေါ် ဒေါသထွက်ကြပြီး၊ ထို့ကြောင့် သူသည် ရှူဒြအဖြစ် မွေးဖွားရာသို့ သွားရသည်။
धौग्य उवाच
Mistaking an improper act for dharma does not make it righteous; such error still binds one to adharma, offends the sacred fires, and yields harmful karmic results, described here as rebirth in a Śūdra womb.
Dhaugya is instructing about a ‘confidential’ but blameworthy point concerning sacrificial propriety: when people treat mishandling of ritual elements (especially connected with the sacred fires) as acceptable duty, they incur ritual offense and moral fault, leading to negative consequences.
