Dāna-Śreṣṭhatā: On the Superiority of Giving
Maitreya–Vyāsa Exemplum
धनं धान्यं प्रियान् दारान् यानं वासस्तथादभुतम् । श्रियं दृष्टवा मनुष्याणामसूयामि निरर्थकम्
dhanaṁ dhānyaṁ priyān dārān yānaṁ vāsas tathādbhūtam | śriyaṁ dṛṣṭvā manuṣyāṇām asūyāmi nirarthakam ||
လူတို့၏ ငွေကြေးနှင့် စပါးရိက္ခာ၊ ချစ်မြတ်နိုးသော ဇနီးများ၊ ကောင်းမွန်သော ယာဉ်များ၊ အံ့ဖွယ် အဝတ်အစားများနှင့် စည်းစိမ်ချမ်းသာကို မြင်လျှင်၊ အကြောင်းရင်းမှန်ကန်သည့်အရာမရှိဘဲ ငါသည် သူတို့ကို မနာလိုစိတ်ဖြင့် မီးလောင်သကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ်နေတတ်၏။
