Dāna-Śreṣṭhatā: On the Superiority of Giving
Maitreya–Vyāsa Exemplum
भृत्यातिथिजनश्चवापि गृहे पर्यशितो मया । मात्सर्यात् स्वादुकामेन नृशंसेन बुभुक्षता
bhṛtyātithijanaś cāpi gṛhe paryaśito mayā | mātsaryāt svādukāmena nṛśaṃsena bubhukṣatā ||
ကျွန်ုပ်သည် အိမ်တွင် အစာကို အပြည့်အဝ စားသောက်ခဲ့ပါသည်၊ အမှုထမ်းများ၊ ဧည့်သည်များနှင့် အားကိုးသူများ ရှိနေသော်လည်း။ မနာလိုစိတ်ကြောင့် အရသာသာလိုချင်၍၊ ရက်စက်မှုနှင့် ဆာလောင်မှုကြောင့် စိတ်ခိုင်မာသွားကာ၊ အိမ်သို့လာသူများနှင့် ကျွန်ုပ်ကို အားကိုးသူများကို အရင်မကျွေးမွေးဘဲ စားသောက်ခဲ့ပါသည်။
