गौतम उवाच मेरोरग्रे यद् वनं भाति रम्यं सुपुष्पितं किन्नरीगीतजुष्टम् । सुदर्शना यत्र जम्बूर्विशाला तत्र त्वाहं हस्तिनं यातयिष्ये
gautama uvāca meror agre yad vanaṁ bhāti ramyaṁ supuṣpitaṁ kinnarīgītajuṣṭam | sudarśanā yatra jambūr viśālā tatra tvāhaṁ hastinaṁ yātayiṣye ||
ဂေါတမက ပြောသည်— «မေရုတောင်ရှေ့တွင် ပန်းပွင့်များစွာဖြင့် လှပတောက်ပသော တောအုပ်တစ်ခု ရှိ၏။ ကိန္နရမိန်းကလေးတို့၏ သီချင်းသံများဖြင့် အမြဲတမ်း သွားလာလှုပ်ရှားနေ၏။ ထိုနေရာ၌ လှပကြီးမားသော ဇမ္ဗူပင်တစ်ပင် ထင်ရှားစွာ ရပ်တည်နေရာ—အဲဒီနေရာသို့ သင်ကို ငါခေါ်သွားမည်၊ ထိုနေရာ၌ပင် ငါ့ဆင်ကို ပြန်လည်ယူမည်»။
