वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse upholds the dharmic ideal of righteous prosperity: true excellence is shown not merely by wealth or power, but by performing sacred duties (yajña/kratu) and by generous, proper giving (dakṣiṇā) that sustains the ritual order and honors those who serve it.
Vaiśampāyana is describing a distinguished figure’s exemplary conduct—his unmatched capacity for sacrifice, generosity, and wisdom—emphasizing that he performed many major Vedic rites and ensured they were completed with sufficient sacrificial gifts.
