विदुर उवाच
Vidura urges sober acceptance of reality: when wise and capable men judge an opponent to be unconquerable, ethical and prudent policy is to heed that assessment and seek one’s welfare through restraint rather than reckless hostility.
Vidura responds to a prior report by “two eminent men” who have stated that the Pāṇḍavas cannot be defeated. He affirms their judgment as correct and addresses the listener respectfully, offering a benediction for the listener’s well-being.
